Corrections Policy

BalkansNetwork corrects material factual errors transparently and as soon as they can be verified. A correction should improve the record rather than silently replace it.

What can be corrected

Names, dates, figures, quotations, legal or institutional descriptions, links, translations and contextual statements may be corrected when evidence shows that the published version was inaccurate or materially incomplete.

How corrections are handled

Reports are reviewed against the article, source material and any additional documentation supplied. Minor typographical changes may be made without a note. Material changes should include a dated correction or update notice explaining what changed.

Requests

A correction request should identify the article, the specific statement in question, the proposed correction and the supporting evidence. Disagreement with an analysis or conclusion does not by itself establish a factual error.

Right of response

Where appropriate, companies, institutions and individuals directly affected by reporting may be invited to provide a concise, documented response.
