Publishing Principles
BalkansNetwork aims to publish useful, attributable and proportionate regional reporting. Accuracy takes priority over speed, and practical value takes priority over promotional language.
Verification and sourcing
Material claims should be supported by primary documents, official data, direct interviews or clearly identified reputable sources. Dates, geographic scope and important limitations must be made explicit.
Independence and conflicts
Editorial judgement must remain independent from advertisers, sponsors, institutions and commercial partners. Relevant financial, professional or personal conflicts should be disclosed.
Clear distinction of formats
News, analysis, opinion, interviews, guides and sponsored material should be distinguishable. Commercial participation must never be presented as independent editorial endorsement.
Human responsibility
Digital and artificial-intelligence tools may support research, translation, production or quality control, but responsibility for publication, accuracy and corrections remains with the editorial operator.
Updates
Time-sensitive guides and market information should include dates and be reviewed when regulations, prices, schedules, institutions or other material conditions change.
